Category: Let's talk
Hello Zoners,
I am writing this message in memory of one of my good friends, and a fellow zone member, who has gone home to be with the Lord. Matt, AKA Matthesurfer was a wonderful person. He loved computers, was very good at them and loved to help people with them and get to know everyone. I had the pleasure of getting to know Matt well and sharing many fun msn and freedom chat conversations with him, and it was here on the zone where we met. Matt’s passing is hard on me, but I’m trying to keep my spirits up and am happy with the fact that he’s home with the Lord.
Matt was week all his life and was on many medications for it. After living with that for pretty much his whole life, he decided that enough was enough and he went off all of them saying that if the Lord would heal him he would get to live with his family and that would be great, but if not then he would get to go home and be with the Lord and that would be even better. “Either way I don’t lose.”
On March 24, Matt made his journey home. I am writing this message, with permission from Matt’s father, to inform all who might have known him of this great loss and to offer support.
Matt’s father wanted me to include his email address: gwboyer@yahoo.com
If you want to email him with questions or words of support, please make the subject line “Matt’s friend.”
You can also reach me at the msn address in my profile.
Thanks all and God bless. Let’s keep Matt’s wonderful memory alive. If we all take a little bit of it with us, we won’t have to carry all the burden on our own and if we all hold Matt in our hearts he will always be with us.

my prayers are with everyone that knew him.
CD, that was a lovely thing to do, good for you! And course I will keep his family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.
Some people go far too young, though he's in a better place now I'm sure.
I tried to find his profile but I'm thinking it's already been deleted. if so I congratulate the prompt action of this.
What a wonderful friend you are to many CD! :)
Yeah, CD. That was very touching. I'm sure Matt would have been proud.
I am Matt's father. Thank you C. D. for posting this memoriam. I have noticed the message about Matt's choice to stop his meds is incomplete and may be miss leading. It was after he talked with his doctor and had learned his transplant which had been gradually deteriorating (and would soon not be able to sustain his life), that he chose to be free of a rigorous medication schedule for the remainder of his life. He did well, better than the doctors had expected. It was nice to go to concerts, church, meetings and places unentangled by the medical yoke. He did what he could to "make the best of it".
Thank you for being a part of his life.
